The State Government has announced a new structure and composition for the running of secondary schools in Osun. Governing Boards will now manage each school, and will comprise two alumni.
For Osogbo Grammar School, we congratulate the two alumni who will run the affairs of our alma mater, including reknown banker, Mr. Wale Adedapo of the 1976 Set, who becomes the chairman of the OGS Board of Governors. Also on the board is Mr. Fatai Alade Ademola, the National Vice President of OGSOSA.
At the inauguration, the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Adedapo, quickly got into business. He has been having discussions with branch and set presidents to understand their plans for the school, even asking for commitment letters.
The 1976 Set is currently constructing a new school gate, which is nearing completion. Some other sets had donated facilities and materials such as computers, laboratory equipment and musical instruments.
He stated: :In my opinion, I will like to encourage our presidents to conduct a tour of the school to assess the current level of the facilities to determine their level of intervention. We all need to work together to take institution to a new height."
According to the State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Olayinka Oladoyin, who made announcements at the premises of Osograms on November 25th, the composition of each school's Board of Governors is as follows:
- Two representatives of Old Students Association in which one of them is the chairman.
- Two representatives of parents’ forum.
- One representative of former principals of the school.
- One incumbent principal of the school
- One representation of the teachers who will be the secretary of BOGs.
- Two clergy men-one Muslim and one Christian Clergy.
