He dedicated a good part of his time to promoting the alma mater and traveled far and wide for the alumni association's events.
Sanya is survived by wife, children and grand-children. His wife, Sherifat, is also a 1981 alumnus.
CONDOLENCE MESSAGES
"A great loss to the OGSOSA 81 family! A great loss to OSOGRAMS GENERAL family!! A great loss to the earth and fullness thereof !!! Well, all belong to God, from where we all came and would eventually return. So sad. R. I.P. Sanya Aluko. What a bad coincidence, a loss of another Sanya in the OGSOSA 81 family (as Sanya Adekunle died sometime ago). May we not experience this again. While expressing my condolence to Serifat, Children and his family members, I pray that God will give them fortitude to bear the loss. "Odun pupo a jina si ra o". Bunmi Ajayi
"Let me register my sincere condolences to the wife, children and the entire house 81 family on the demise of Sanya Aluko. He was a shinning star and a committed member. He was highly instrumental to the resuscitation of House 81 as it is today. I'm devastated but who am I to question the supremacy of almighty God. Good night my dear brother. I wish all those that will be attending the burial service safe journey. Odun a jina sira." Busuyi Adekola
"This is really sad. Sanya was really good fellow and a great encourager. May his soul rest in perfect peace." Rotimi Oyekunle
"It grieves me deeply to read of the demise of two of our members Sofiu Sanya Aluko(81Set)& Yakubu Akanbi(72Set). Even though God sets no time table and we cannot question Him yet we mourn our departed souls for the vacuum in fellowship which their passing away creates. I commiserate with all of us and especially the respective Set Groups. We would miss Aluko on the Executive. Their memory will ever be sweet and their good works will leave after them. May their souls rest in perfect peace and may the Lord comfort their spouces and provide for the upkeep of the family." Remi Akinlade
"Sanya Aluko, aka Sunshine, the great footballer with his signature head band. No, No, No, this is too shocking a news. Well, we can't query God. I pray God to uphold the immediate family and all of us that he left behind. RIP, SUNSHINE. One day, the sun will shine again when we shall all meet to part no more." Felix Ayoola, 1980 Set
"Alhaji Sefiu Aluko, currently the protem National PRO of the Alumni body, he was a very diligent officer and committed alumni of our Great School. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray the Almighty Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss. Amin" Dayo Adeyemi, Lagos Branch President
"Inalilai waina ilehi rajiuna.May Almighty Allah grant our brother Alijana Fridaus and the family left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. I sincerely commensurate with our association in general and the 81 set in particular." Alhaji Fatai Ademola, 1975 Set
